During my University summer vacation, I had the privilege of completing a 3-month internship with Vocis. As a smaller, specialist automotive business, they were able to immediately involve me in exciting projects, ranging from software to hardware (and even time in the workshop), where I gained invaluable knowledge from the experts around me. The team were very accommodating, allowing me to experience all that the business offers, while supporting me in transferring my skills from university into a professional engineering environment. I am very grateful for the time invested in me, by Mike and his team, and wish them the very best for the future
I worked, as part of an industrial placement, at Vocis for 4 and a half months. It has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a great place to work. I was given a real engineering project to work on, that Vocis would be able to use in the future, and was supported along the way by my supervisor. Despite only working on a single project, I was exposed to a range of engineering disciplines, from circuit design to programming, and I was able to visit some of the companies that Vocis work with to get a better view of the whole engineering process. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vocis and learnt a lot from it.
My three month internship at Vocis was a hugely rewarding experience. The staff were extremely welcoming and had a huge wealth of knowledge that they were always willing to impart. This was very beneficial for my personal development and technical understanding.
I was given real responsibilities as part of the development of a prototype transmission for a prestigious European customer. Moreover, as a small company I was to able observe and understand every aspect of the how an engineering business operates. I was also exposed to several other diverse projects and was always given the opportunity to be involved in important meetings with customers.
